History

Rowing was the major organised sport at Mic Mac AAC when it first opened its doors in 1923. Many great rowing crews and events have graced the lake since those days. The famous Mic Mac fours crew represented Canada and finished third in the 1932 Olympics. The crew consisted of Henry Pelham, Gordon (Tiny) Gammon, Fraser Herman and Frank Courtney. Over the years many Mic Mac Rowers have gone on to row nationally and internationally. More recent history has seen Mic Mac’s Todd Hallett row for Canada in a World Cup, five World Championships and three Olympics.
