Program:
Created to support, and develop competitive rowers at MicMac AAC Rowing, the Jr. /Sr. Competitive program strives to create an environment where competitive athletes can compete and develop with the goal of high performance. The Jr. / Sr. Competitive program is targeted towards those individuals who wish to represent the club, and / or the province both locally and out of province. As a competitive rower, the club will provide coaching and the equipment necessary to train and compete at a high level.

Guidelines:

  • Rowers are asked to arrive at the Club at 5:15am sharp, ensuring that the participants can utilize the full 1 ½ hours of rowing. If participants arrive late, it is the Coach’s discretion if he/she will be allowed on the water.
  • Athletes MUST attend all scheduled practices unless otherwise arranged with the Coach.
  • All competitive athletes are required to commit to and follow the prescribed training program, complete testing, and participate in selection as required.
  • All selection of crews will be made by the Head Coach for the Jr. /Sr. competitive program. The Head Coach will provide a selection document prior to the selection process, ensuring all participants understand the selection process.
  • The Head Coach reserves the right to deny participation in the Jr. /Sr. Competitive program if the participant does not follow the above guidelines.
  • Report all broken or damaged equipment to your coach.

Club Events and Participation:
Members of the Jr. /Sr. Competitive Program are encouraged to become involved in all aspects of the club. The Club’s success is directly related to its member’s participation. As Jr. / Sr. competitive athletes MicMac AAC Rowing asks for your participation in fundraising, boat bay maintenance, and recruitment.

On Friday Evening many club members attend ‘TGIF’ above the Rowing Bays at MicMac AAC. This is an excellent opportunity to socialize with other club members, talk rowing, and enjoy a great meal.

**Saturday morning coffee at ROBIN’S is a great way to relax after time trials.**
