Midget (Under 17)/Senior
If these athletes are not high performance athletes and interested in the general day program they will train with the Bantam groups where they will learn such skill as sportsmanship, leadership, time management and safe boating until they are stable and comfortable in their boats. By training with the U15 group they will develop a base to work from to move into the next training group. In crew boats, these athletes will train with other athletes of the same skill set and abilities.
These athletes will have scheduled training times for crew boats.
Each athlete will be required to wear a club jersey (singlet) while racing at each regatta. Each athlete should have their own “bun” for use in the canoes. Full sized lockers are available for rent $25.00 on a first come first served basis. Boat storage is available $75.00 for limited spaces. These boats must be racing canoes & kayaks used during the program not sea kayaks.
The midget – senior athletes will have several regattas each summer depending on their levels of training. The athletes training in high performance groups will be scheduled according to their coaches.
There are regattas designated for “high performance” groups only as well as regattas for all paddlers.
Please keep www.adckc.ca in your favourites to keep up to date with the sport of canoe/kayak and for regatta information such as dates, times, draws and results.
