U10 AND UNDER DEVELOPMENT KAYAK & CANOE CAMPS

Summer 2014 025

Enroll your child this summer in paddling at the Mic Mac AAC for a summer packed full of fun and recreation. We offer programs for all ages, starting as young as 5 right through adults. The Atom program includes a day camp option for children that will require supervision while at the club (note all children under 10 require adult supervision while at the club during times they are not participating in paddling instruction). In addition to the time spent on the water, children enrolled in the Atom day camps will participate in games, swimming and local outings.

The development camps run from 8:30am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday. Supervision begins at 8:30 am and full programming begins at 9:00 am, to ensure children are with their group they must arrive by 9:00am. Programming ends at 4:00 pm, supervision will continue until 4:30 pm.

The cost for non-members is $225 per week, or register as a member for $775 (plus applicable fees) and cost is $60/wk.

Weekly camps are structured on a rotating basis with the participants taking part in the Atom (Under 10) program where they will paddle in a variety of kayaks and canoes. These young athletes will learn safe boating techniques as well as skills such as sportsmanship, self esteem, leadership, organization and healthy lifestyle choices.

The camps are staffed with qualified camp councillors, paddling development coaches, a life guard, a swim instructor as well as several junior leaders.

The beach is fully supervised and has plenty of “play” room with sandy areas, grassy areas, shady areas and well marked swimming zones along with a swim dock.
